10 Day Teacher Tour of Italy (2027)
Embark on a 10-day immersive journey through Italy, designed for educators eager to bring history, art, and culture alive in the classroom. Explore ancient ruins, Renaissance masterpieces, and living traditions, while gaining practical insights and resources to inspire your teaching.
Days 1–3: Rome
In Rome, participants will visit the Colosseum, Roman Forum, Pantheon, and the Vatican Museums including the Sistine Chapel. A guided walking food tour through a traditional Roman neighbourhood adds a contemporary cultural element. The educational focus during this stage includes ancient civilizations, Roman engineering, early Christianity and Renaissance art.
Days 4–7: Porto di Pozzuoli
Based in Porto di Pozzuoli, the group will explore Baiae’s Archaeological Park, Roman villas, and thermal baths, with the unique addition of a glass-bottom boat tour over the submerged ruins. A full day will be spent at Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius, combining a guided archaeological visit with a walk up the volcano. Optional excursions in Naples provide opportunities to explore museums, historic sites, and local traditions. The educational focus here centres on Roman coastal settlements, volcanic geology, disaster management and ancient urban life.
Days 8–10: Florence
The final stage of the journey takes place in Florence, with guided visits to the Uffizi Gallery, the Accademia to see Michelangelo’s David, and the city’s architectural landmarks including the Duomo. A day trip into the Tuscan countryside offers a hands-on cooking class highlighting Florentine cuisine. The tour concludes with an evening seminar to consolidate the week’s themes, providing classroom-ready resources and strategies.
